Deputy Hirewear Manager

Black Tie Menswear is a family-run business in Crowthorne with a long history in bespoke and military tailoring, formal wear hire and menswear retail. We're looking for a hard working, passionate and helpful individual to join the Black Tie family in a full-time management role. Experience in menswear hire or retail is preferable but not essential, but experience in dealing with customers face-to-face in a retail environment is a necessity.

As Deputy Hirewear Manager your duties will include: Assisting customers with their wedding suit and formal wear needs; Using knowledge gained in the role to give advice to prospective customers via email, telephone or in person; Measuring and fitting customers; Performing basic garment alterations; Preparing hirewear orders; Overseeing a small team of employees in their day to day duties and allocating tasks; Counting and managing stock; Ordering garments and accessories from a range of suppliers; Managing the final fittings and collections of wedding orders; Seasonally dressing the shop window in order to keep it eye catching and relevant; Liaising with the senior staff; Assisting in the selection of new products and buying; Attending wedding fayres to meet potential new customers.

Full training is given including basic tailoring training, with opportunities to gain further experience in this field. The successful applicant will be polite, well-spoken, approachable, charismatic, smart and tidy, with good timekeeping. A basic knowledge and a passion for menswear, particularly suits and tailoring, would be very beneficial. Our senior staff have an unrivaled expertise in the field of menswear, including experience on the world famous Savile Row, so this is a unique opportunity to gain a wealth of knowledge in the menswear industry.

Our working week is a minimum of 42 hours, this would consist of four 8.5 hour days during the week (Taking every Friday as your day off) plus Saturdays, with a regular evening shift every Wednesday (generally until 7:30pm, note this is occasionally not necessary during quieter periods and occasionally is balanced with a later start time of 11am). The role also involves working the occasional Sunday during wedding fayre seasons, which is paid as overtime.

Paid holiday is 28 days, however no holiday can be taken in the month of June (our busiest month).

We would prefer an individual with a full UK drivers license and access to a car or van.
