The role will involve but not be limited to;
To manage the rolling schedule of building and maintenance projects across all sites.
To work within agreed budget perimeters for projects. Advising the Estate Manager on required purchases and assist in forming the capital expenditure programme.
To ensure the maintenance and operation of the security, fire, access control, CCTV, heating, water and other on-site systems covering both in house responsibilities and utilising external contractors where necessary.
To line manage and develop the in house maintenance staff through identifying training and developmental requirements. Ensure during periods of team leave/absence appropriate cover is in place including relevant handovers.
To take a key role in Health and Safety, how it is observed and adhered to across all sites. This includes the management of asbestos, water awareness and fire safety. To carry out risk assessments as appropriate.
To be responsible for the management of contracts and external contractors across all sites.
To maintain all relevant documentation including building and site plans.
To assist the Estate Manager in keeping up to date with Facilities Management trends and developments. Namely in key areas such as asset managing and IT infrastructure.
To act as an out of hours contact in the case of emergencies. This includes being a listed key holder on the emergency contact list for emergency services. A mobile phone will be provided by the school for this purpose.
To assist in the security of premises both generally, out of hours and key school events.
This position will be working Monday - Friday from 8.00am - 5.00pm and two weekends of the year you will be required to cover for the site manager.
