Deputy Catering Manager



35 hours per week, 38 weeks a year +5 additional days

ORP are recruiting aDeputy Catering Manager for a secondary school in Greenwich

  • Ensure that everyone benefits from a high quality catering operation that offers freshly prepared and well-presented food and courteous, efficient and professional levels of service
  • Support the Catering Manager by implementing and reinforcing agreed strategies and to be actively involved in staff training and development
  • Prepare hot and cold food to a high standard, ensuring menus for all meals served to students, staff and visitors are complying with Government guidelines and legislations
  • Ensure that Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations are rigorously applied and enforced with all necessary records maintained
  • Support the Catering Manager in the development of menus for the Dining Hall and functions
  • Actively work towards increasing revenue uptake throughout the school day
  • Report any building and equipment repairs to Facilities Manager and notify Catering Manager
  • Provide training as necessary to ensure all team members
  • Organise any hospitality functions when needed occurring outside normal working hours
  • Carry out all duties with due regard for Food Safety, HACCP Policy, Health & Safety regulations, the Council’s Equal Opportunities Policies, Environment Strategy and Safeguarding for staff and students
