Demand Planner

Overview of role
  • Manage and maintain an inventory plan which supports both stock holding value and the sales and marketing plan
  • Use analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance supply chain processes
  • Gathering data to analyse operational performance, identify problems, and develop recommendations which support Supply Chain planning and operations.
  • Analyse performance of suppliers (US and China)
  • Ensure inbound logistics plan and freight forwarders support sales and marketing plan
  • Maintain, manage and improve MRP and other associated supply chain SI&OP planning processes
  • Liaise with logistic companies responsible for delivering inbound container plan from the US and China
  • Develop periodic performance reports and distribute them to stakeholders
    • Customer Service (OTIF)
    • Inventory availability and performance (stock turns & provision)
    • Lead Time analysis and Supplier performance
    • Gather and interpret relevant data to support improvements in supply chain
    • Investigate problems, find root causes, and develop and implement solutions
    • Provide analytical support for projects
    • Coordinate delivery schedules and other supply chain activities
Technical Skills
  • Implementation and change management
  • Manufacturing and inventory demand planning experience
  • ERP system - super user (i.e SAP etc)
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP applications, BI, data structures and processes relating to the supply chain
  • Able to create KPI’s and dashboards to measure and control key processes
  • Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of supply chain processes and their impact on the wider business
  • Good commercial acumen with customer service experience
  • Ability to communicate internally with peers and managers through email and presentations
  • Experience of managing overseas suppliers and commercial processes (China & USA)
  • Advanced Microsoft user in particular Excel (essential)
  • Experience in export/import documentation (preferable but not essential)
