Deaf Learning Support Assistant 1:1

* Secondary Special School

* Based in Orpington

* Full-Time

* Daily pay £65-£80 depending on experience

Empowering Learning are currently looking for a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work and support secondary pupil that has a hearing impermanent. The pupil is of secondary age but is working at primary levels, so experience of supporting children within a Primary setting would be ideal as you will be working to the primary English curriculum. We are looking for someone that will be dedicated to supporting children with a hearing impairment/Deaf. We would be looking for a dynamic Learning Support Assistant that can plan creative ways to help the pupils learning on a 1:1 basis.

Job Responsibilities

* Supporting pupils in the classroom on a 1:1

* Supporting the pupils with hearing impermanent

* Assist in lessons by note taking and explaining subjects to pupils

* Supervising children's in & out of the classroom

* Encourage and support the pupil daily

* Helping the teacher by providing reports on the pupils progress

Job Requirements

* Experience of working as a Learning Support/Classroom Assistant

* Experience supporting children with hearing impermanent is preferred but not essential

* Strong communication skills written in particular

* Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one

* Available 5 days a week and able to commit

* Able to commit Full-Time
