Day Support Worker -Learning Disability

Posted 15 November by Liaise Loddon Ltd Featured

We are Liaise Loddon and we provide small, friendly, community based homes to adults with profound learning difficulties, usually associated with autism.

If you are compassionate, empathetic and genuinely care about improving people’s lives, joining the team at Romsey could be your way of progressing or starting a career in Health and Social Care.

The support we provide includes helping with everything from daily living and personal care to getting out and about to the shops or even to the pub. It’s not an overseeing role: you’ll help people make choices and decisions, live each day to the fullest and develop life skills along the way. Of course, there will sometimes be challenges, however we’ll give you full training and support to ensure you can deal with these confidently and capably. We use modern positive behaviour support approaches based within PROACT-SCIPr-UK®. This is embedded in everything that we do, from your induction to your ongoing training.

Although experience gained within a similar setting and relevant qualifications would be beneficial, neither are essential. The personal qualities you bring are far more important. So, we’ll be looking for an open mind, respect for others, resilience, self-motivation and a willingness to learn. You will also need to have a good standard of English, basic IT skills, a team approach and the ability to work under your own initiative.

If you don’t currently have any qualifications, we will help you to achieve them, beginning with completion of your Care Certificate and continuing with an NVQ in Health & Social Care.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your knowledge and your career potential.

In addition, you’ll enjoy a benefits package that includes further support for professional development, pension scheme, Employee Assistance Programme and a discount scheme.

Successful applicants will need to pass an enhanced DBS check.
