We are expanding our highly successful Database Technology Consultancy team, working out of Our client’s Technical Services Centre of Excellence, with a particular focus on improving the services we offer to customers and expanding the portfolio of database services.
The team provides a highly rewarding and challenging experience for the Database Technology Consultant, providing customer consulting and new product development services across our platforms.
The team work closely with our Global client base to deliver a wide range of Services including presales, technical consultancy and support.

Reporting into the Database Technology Consultancy Manager the Database Technology Consultant will be responsible for providing technical expertise in order to satisfy our customer’s database administration requirements.
The role focuses on delivering database consultancy including pre-sales, design and implementation for database solutions across many traditional and modern database products. A particular focus will be on growing the existing services portfolio to include new database technologies.
There will be a requirement from time to time to deliver day to day support for Customer database environments.
Travel to customer site is an essential part of this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES / MAIN DUTIES
·Providing database consultancy for new and existing customers including remote and on site consultancy as determined by the Database Technology Consultancy Manager.
·Work with product team to bring new data products into the existing product portfolio.
·Provide support for Sales/Presales/ Solutions.
·Support for Sales/Presales client discussions at Our client offices or customer location.
·Create workplan and estimate for Database Scope of Works.
·Qualification of day to day consultancy requirements.
·Being part of a support team resolving incident "tickets" for our global client base.
·Be part of an OnCall support rota for 24/7 customer support.
·Adhere to team processes and the direction of the Database Services Manager.
·Significant customer facing delivery experience.
·Proven ability to consult with customers on database matters, to recommend best practise and competent solutions that meet customer business requirements.
·Proven experience of administering databases including clusters in a 24x7 business critical environment (Production).
·Significant troubleshooting and performance tuning skills/experience
·Demonstrable ability for Installation, tuning and administration.
·Strong knowledge of Clusters, Storage, Backups, Data Export / Import, Monitoring tools and disaster recovery.
·Proven experience of working with RDBMS such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL etc.
·Knowledge of or Interested in working with PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Hbase, OrionDB and many more!
·Knowledge or interested in MySQL
·Clustering & Replication, MySQLDUMP, MSSQL Log
·Shipping, Clustering, Mirroring, AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Native Backup and Recovery, Oracle DB.
·Knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, TSQL
·Be a self-motivated proactive individual who is equally comfortable in working individually or as part of a wider team.
·Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·Deliver the appropriate balance between business need and technical perfection.
·Have a can do attitude and demonstrate a passion for new technology and learning Database vendor accredited DBA qualification.
Standard. 7.5 hours per day with 1 hour lunch break between 8am and 6pm.
Start and End times as defined by the team shift rota as devised by the Database Technology Consultancy Manager.
As per On-call and Planned Works compensation for employees on formal register IAM Unified computing policy.
Transport - Must have own Car with business use
Security Clearance -Must be able to obtain NPPV 3 Clearance for all UK Police Forces
