What is the plan for the Database Administrator role?
Reporting to the Head - Technical Solutions, the Database Administrator will provide installation services and support in Oracle or DB2 or Informix, carry out maintenance and troubleshooting, and design databases. The Database Administrator will be responsible for database file systems, backup and recovery procedures, writing, editing and optimising SQL statements, performance, tuning and monitoring of databases, recommending improvements, and carrying out maintenance.
What do you know that makes you a great Database Administrator?
Core proficiency in logical and physical database design, stored procedures, triggers, backups and upgrades within Oracle or DB2, coupled with the ability to research, recommend and apply new solutions is essential to the role.
The ideal candidate will have a track record for handling multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment. Although specific training will be provided, at least two years’ experience in databases, especially in Oracle or DB2 will be considered an asset.
Knowledge in Application Server Technologies (IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, Oracle Glassfish, RedhatJBoss), Web Server (Apache HTTP Server, IBM HTTP Server), Redhat Linux and AIX Unix, Shell scripting and experience in High Availability, Infrastructure design and Performance Tuning will be advantageous.
Salary circa €35k based on experience with bonus and private healthcare
