Data Systems Analyst

Location: Bristol
Salary: £26,000 - £34,000

Sanderson Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Data Systems Analyst to work at one of our clients in Bristol within the Management Information Team. We are looking for someone who can assist with bridging the MI team with IT and various other departments who has a genuine thirst for technical knowledge and can problem solve and find creative solutions.

Technical Knowledge:


  • Advanced Excel (Pivots, lookups, data validation and formulas)
  • SQL Server Development (SSMS, T-SQL)

Desirable but not essential:

  • SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Basic Programming Skills (VBA, Possibly C#, .Net)
  • SQL Server Database Administration

Job Description/Duties:

  • Combining data from disparate systems- Excel and SQL mostly, potentially Crystal Reports.
  • Data Quality, Data Cleansing and Data Loading
  • Developing Reports both externally and Internally- T-SQL scripts and a Report Designer tool (AutoTag)
  • Administration of CRM/ATS and other related systems, both from Application Layer as well as SQL Server Database Backend
  • Developing and delivering accurate, timely and insightful management information on a daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc basis; frequently dealing with changing priorities
  • Setting up and developing processes and procedures to enable efficient production of information
  • Project and task management for system implementations and/or process improvement
  • Processing and submitting quarterly intermediary reports to HMRC covering company policies to comply with industry regulations
  • Manipulating large sets of data from multiple data sources
  • Ensuring accuracy and consistency of outputs and pro-actively investigating and resolving data anomalies and inconsistencies and areas for concern and improvement
  • Driving continuous improvements in MI procedures and processes, design and automation of reports
  • Working collaboratively with the end Client to establish and agree reporting requirements from initial concept to delivery, liaising with internal departments, Account Process Managers, Business Relationship Managers Finance teams; legal; compliance; recruitment teams to ensure effective use of management information tools and on building client-specific MI including cost saving reports, forecasting and tracking of the benefits realisation
  • Managing own workload to ensure deadlines are met and critical requests are prioritised

  • Able to work autonomously however as part of a team when required
  • Able to manage and prioritise varying workloads
  • Ability to work effectively under high pressure situations
  • Able to articulate technical information to non-technical people
