Data Services Officer (FTC)

Our client, a leading insurance organisation based in Milton Keynes, is currently looking for a Data Services Officer to join them on a fixed term basis until December 2018.

The primary focus of the role is to identify and evaluate first line of defence data management controls, particularly those related to legitimate access-illegitimate use, and to coordinate and structure these controls.

Candidates must have data protection and information security experience (ISO 27001) and may have previously worked in roles such as Data Protection Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating first line of defense data security controls with second (Risk and Compliance) and third (Audit) line of defense measures.
  • Overseeing controls for legitimate / illegitimate uses of non-claims services data.
  • Understanding who has access to the data and how the data is protected.
  • Understanding the appropriateness of the controls in place to protect the data, as well as helping to manage mitigation plans to address any identified weaknesses.
  • Helping to manage information security incidents impacting the Data Services department.
  • Helping to manage risks and audit recommendations impacting the Data Services department.
  • Supporting the management of business continuity arrangements for the Data Services department.

Requirements

It is essential that candidates are able to answer yes to the following questions:

1. Have you got working knowledge of data protection; Data Protection Act 1998 and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)?

2. Have you got working knowledge of information security, either:

• Implementing ISO 27001

• Maintaining an Information Security Management System (ISMS)

• Responsibility for implementing ISO controls

3. Have you got previous experience of risk management?

4. Have you got any contract management/review experience?

5. Have you got working knowledge of Business Continuity:

• Implementing ISO 22301

• Maintaining a Business Continuity Management System (BCMS)

• Involvement in maintaining Business Continuity Plans
