Data Protection Support

Our public sector client, based in the West End of Glasgow, have a temporary requirement for a Data Protection Support for a 3 month assignment. Hours of work will be Mon - Fri 9am - 5pm (35 hours a week) and the rate of pay will be £18.92 per hour.

The purpose of the role is to coordinate all activity in relation to General Data Protection Regulation preparedness within the department, assisting the Deputy Director in project managing the project to ensure completion, as part of a working group.

Applicants should have Data Protection experience and will be required to plan and implement the project; write and compile the guidance handbook; and review policies and procedures.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor the GDPR project plan and ensure tasks are completed by the GDPR working group.
- Assist in reviewing GDPR policies and procedures, identifying and creating solutions to address any gaps.
- Create a GDPR handbook/user guide by gathering together procedures developed by the GDPR working group, and identifying and creating solutions to address any gaps.
- Working with the GDPR Working Group, devise, plan and ensure the delivery of GDPR Training sessions based on the handbook.
- Ensure that any GPDR policy decisions and new procedures are implemented.

Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent information management skills with the ability to gather and analyse information and map business processes
- Excellent writing skills to create guides, handbooks and policy documents
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to take the initiative, identify opportunities and to build on these in a structured way, whether individually or as part of a team.
- Good time management and project management skills
- Project management and/or analysing business processes.
- Developing policy and procedure
- Writing handbooks
- Experience with multi-relational databases (eg. the Raiser's Edge)
- Experience of change management and process engineering

- HND, VQ3/4, Higher or equivalent
- Educated to undergraduate degree level, VQ4 or equivalent
- Knowledge of data protection legislation
