Data Protection Officer
We are proudly assisting a highly reputable bank with the appointment of a Data Protection Officer in to their business.

The successful individual will have expert knowledge of data protection and associated privacy legislation with proven experience of applying such legislation in a practical business context.
The role will report directly to the Board of Directors, and will be accessible by all departments throughout the organisation.
Essential experience required:
Expert knowledge of data protection law and practice, including a detailed working knowledge of the GDPR.
Experience of advising on documentation such as privacy policies, data protection impact assessments, data processing agreements and data protection clauses in customer terms and supplier contracts, as well as an understanding of the data protection issues associated with outsourcing transactions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. The DPO should be able to communicate strategically and with a wide-ranging audience, including the board of directors, managers, employees and other data subjects. The role will also require the DPO to write concise, structured reports and to develop clear briefing materials.
Strong analytical skills combined with logic and reasoning.
A willingness to build a detailed working knowledge of the business so that no function is overlooked or misunderstood
Ability to understand what the fair treatment of customer’s means and to ensure that this is consistently incorporated into the role as appropriate
Significant experience in IT operations, including advising on the attainment of information security standards certifications
Willingness and enthusiasm to engage with emerging laws and technologies.
ISEB in Data Protection to Practitioner level or CIPP certification(s)
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: £100,000 (flexibility for the right candidate) + Annual performance-related bonus. There is an excellent benefits package available including company car and if needed, a relocation package
