My client is looking for a data protection officer to securely protect all of their very important data! This position is for a minimum of 12 months but only working only 3 days a week… with the potential of home working (ahhh the life, sign me uppp)!
This role is a vital role within the organisation as there are a lot of internal changes going on. You will be responsible for leading the continued protection of personal data within the transforming organisation. You will use your knowledge to ensure the correct handling of data and personal information, and also directing it within other departments of the organisation.
Main duties;
• Advise the obligations under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the Data Protection Law Enforcement Directive (DPLED).
• Lead on the development and implementation of GDPR compliance plan.
• Monitor compliance and ensure appropriate assurance activities are undertaken and approval processes are in place, reviewed and updated to facilitate compliance with GDPR as understanding of its requirements mature.
• Provide advice where requested regarding data protection impact assessments and monitor performance as required by the GDPR
• Report risks and data breaches internally and where appropriate to the ICO
• Review and update data protection policies across the organisation in line with current and proposed data protection legislation and oversee provision of data protection training and awareness.

Essentials about you;

• Detailed knowledge of current data protection legislation, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and associated codes of practice.
• Previous practical experience of data protection work with excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks and manage own workload.
• Knowledge of risk management.
• Background in information rights legislation.
• Ability to Create effective plans, systems and governance to manage change and respond promptly to critical events.
• Ability to make clear, pragmatic and manageable plans for service delivery using programme and project management principles.
