Data Protection & Compliance Officer - Legal Services - Surrey - up to £40,000 + Benefits

Hays are working with a leading Surrey based Solicitors to source a new role as their Data Protection & Compliance Officer.

Your new role
This is a key role and will work closely with all areas of the business but specifically within the Risk, Compliance and Quality areas ensuring the business maintains, improves and complies with all regulatory and data protection obligations. You will provide hands on advise and review of SRA regulatory compliance, account rules and horizon risks. As well as; ensuring governance in relation to Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Bribery regulations and GDPR. Ensure the embedding of Risk Management and Culture and robust compliance procedures across all areas.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have proven experience in a similar Data Protection and Compliance role from within a busy and professional regulated environment. Experience from with a legal, professional services firm or a related law degree would be desirable. The individual must have demonstrable drive and ambition to learn and develop within the firm. Plus the ability to engage at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders.
