We’re looking for an organised and enthusiastic individual to join the Customer Legal team as a Data Protection Compliance Executive. This role will provide varied administration support for the Data Protection Officer including handling Data Subject access requests from customers and third parties and helping to build and maintain a compliance monitoring programme for Data Protection at TUI UK&I.
What you will be doing
As Data Protection Compliance Executive you will manage data subject access requests from customers and third parties which will involve communicating by phone, email and written correspondence. You will be required to operate within the regulated timelines and to report on the nature and volume of requests on a monthly basis. You will also be required to liase with the regulator (the ICO) in certain cases and be able to support on internal investigations. With third party subject access requests from the Police and other relevant authorities you may be required to attend court to represent TUI and provide statements.
You will need to build a good working knowledge of TUI systems to enable you to manage the subject access requests and be constantly looking to identify ways to carry out the work more efficiently. Having the ability to prioritise independently and deal effectively with high volume caseload is key, whilst balancing key project activities.
You will provide support to the Data Protection Officer in building and maintain a compliance monitoring programme for Data Protection at TUI. You will also work with the Data Protection Officer to facilitate, communicate and embed a positive culture of Data Protection throughout the organisation by building strong collaborative working relationships with all departments. You will stay up to date with the latest Data Protection Regulations whilst effectively interpreting and communicating it to Business stakeholders across TUI UK&I. You will also work with the DPO to develop and advise on policy, being a key point of contact internally who manages Data Protection activity.
What we are looking for
- Signifcant experience of complex administrative work with a good working knowledge of MS Office applications
- Demonstrable experience of managing confidential information and data combined with excellent up to date knowledge of data protection
- Experience of liaising with external third parties/ authorities in an official capacity
- A track record of working with minimal supervision and using own initiative to plan and organise own workload
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with a proven ability of communicating technical information to a non-technical audience
- An organised, pro-active individual with strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally
- An demonstrable interest in the Legal and/or Data protection fields.
