Data Protection Co-ordinator

Posted 6 March by NPOWER Featured Ended

Brilliance begins with you…
With the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) just around the corner, we are looking for an experienced Data Protection Coordinator to partner with the business to educate, train and advise on all Data Protection matters, ensuring we are compliant with all relevant data protection legislation. This will involve travel to our offices throughout the UK.
Partnering with all areas of the business, in particular, you will work closely with npower’s Retail Compliance department and its customer business members, in relation to the resolution of any data protection related customer complaints.
Every day is different in this role and you can be juggling multiple projects and queries at the same time. As part of the day-to-day, you will advise on group-wide data protection policies, guidelines and standards that make up the ‘Data Protection Framework’.
Ultimately, this is a great opportunity to make an impact and to determine, lead and manage fundamental changes required across the business as a result of new EU Regulations that  become effective on the 25th May 2018. This is a critical period in executing a change management programme across the company.
What we are looking for
Data Protection knowledge is critical to this role and you need to  have a good understanding of data protection legislation and its requirements, supported by a recognised data protection qualification. Ideally, you will have practical experience of working in and applying data protection practices in a major UK organisation.
As you will be partnering with multiple areas and stakeholders across the business, you will need to be self-confident, highly motivated and have excellent communication skills. Due to its high profile impact, you must be able to work under pressure and be able to prioritise your own workload.
Why you should apply
With a salary up to £40,000 and impressive benefits package you’ll also get the opportunity to be involved to help shape the future of our business. Along the way, we’ll give you all the support you need to develop your skill set and achieve your long-term ambitions.
