Data Protection opportunity for a Data Privacy Analyst to provide proactive and effective assistance supporting the Group Data Privacy Officer

About the role

Interesting opportunity to work as part of the Group Risk and Compliance team as a Data Privacy Analyst. Within this role you will provide proactive and effective assistance to support the Group Data Privacy Officer in all areas of data protection compliance and specifically GDPR. The DPA will undertake research into data protection legislation and developments, provide practical advice on compliance, administer the Subject Access Request and Data Breach Reporting processes. The role also involves administering the various privacy groups/forums across the Capita Group, arranging conferences and training, providing reports on various related topics, updating various internal media and maintaining distribution of guidance and other publications internally across the Group businesses.

Group Risk and Compliance works with individual Capita business units and their own risk and compliance teams to ensure that the businesses understand and comply with relevant risk and compliance requirements. The Group Data Protection Team works within GRC and supports the businesses in all aspects of Data Privacy.

What you will do:

  • Reporting to the Group Data Privacy Officer you will provide data protection advice as directed to Capita businesses
  • Organise conferences, meetings and training as directed
  • Take ownership and maintain a library of DP publications and information (e.g. ICO and Art 29WP Guidance, Codes of Practice, and other external publications). Storage, archiving and retrieval of all such documents
  • Administer the SAR process and data breach process for Group
  • Prepare reports on breaches reported, DSARs received, CBT training and other records as required

Your experience will include:

  • Sound working knowledge of the Data Protection Act 1998
  • Understanding of the General Data Protection Regulations 2016
  • Experience working in a data protection environment, e.g. legal department, security in private or public sector
  • Articulate and with good communication skill
