Position: Data Analytics Consultant
Location: West Yorkshire
Salary: To £34k plus bonus and benefits
As a Data Analytics Consultant you will work in a newly formed division of a long established and very successful global Consulting group. Within this division sits an exciting and dynamic Information Management and Analytics (IMA) team that specialises in finding innovative approaches to problem solving.
The team applies data management, statistical and analytical skills using a wide and varied toolbox including in-house analytical and visualisation software. These tools and techniques support clients in providing insight into their problems and responding with innovative solutions.
The clients are typically infrastructure related, often in the utilities sector including water and wastewater and any experience in this area would be particularly useful but not vital.
The position of Data Analytics Consultant will suit someone with a year or two of commercial experience OR someone coming out of academia where programming and mathematical / statistical modelling has been part of the curriculum.
Fundamentally the business is seeking a data junkie; a problem solver who can think laterally and bring innovation to tasks. You will do this through mathematical approaches including statistical modelling to develop, analyse, visualise and draw conclusions that can be presented to clients.
You will work alongside colleagues as well as with internal and external clients to develop insights from data. This data will come from utility sector clients in multiple formats and will need to be integrated, analysed and interrogated so that it can be used to drive decision making. The tools and methodologies applied are determined by the IMA team and you will be fully contributing to that process.
As the ideal candidate you will have an excellent academic background that demonstrates strong problem solving and analytical ability. The IMA team work closely to collaborate on tasks. It collectively has a blend of backgrounds and approaches that enables it to bring a variety of expertise to any tasks it works on. As a result you will be comfortable working as part of an agile multi-disciplinary team, looking to challenge and be challenged as part of the project delivery process. You will need flexibility to adapt to a varied task list but also the patience to stick to one activity in order to obtain the necessary results.
You should be able to demonstrate a long-term interest in developing smart analytical solutions within a fast paced growing sector and will be keen to join a business that is able to offer long term career progression and training.
