Objectives

  • The Data Analyst / BI Developer will work with the Global Reporting and Analytics team, part of the Global Learning Services department
  • The main purpose of the Data Analyst / BI Developer role is to support in the delivery of Global reporting/analysis of Learning and Development related data to the business, working alongside other team members (Business Analysts/Developers etc.) to design, develop, test and distribute key MI/BI reporting, whilst also undertaking analysis to provide value-added insights, enabling data driven decision making

Candidate Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for developing and delivering high quality MI/BI reporting solutions
  • Capture new MI/BI reporting and analysis stakeholder requirements, identify and source relevant data and develop the necessary reports / analysis / insights
  • Support with creation of new/migration of existing MI reports in to Tableau
  • Development and delivery of relevant weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly and annual global reporting requirements
  • Develop and deliver short term ad-hoc reporting, supporting functional leads in response to high-priority topical issues
  • Support development and delivery of mid/long-term correlation analysis between global L&D metrics and wider business metrics, using statistical modelling techniques
  • To improve existing reporting and analysis processes where possible, in order to streamline tasks and minimise business continuity risks
  • Desirable (not essential) to be able to write SQL in order to query databases / extraction that can then be communicated to peers for further analysis / report development

Candidate Specifications

  • Proven experience in data manipulation / data analysis
  • Ability to manage and interpret / query large quantities of data, understanding of multiple data sets
  • Experience of working with data analysis / visualisation tools - ideally a minimum of 3 years MI / BI development experience
  • Experience in the following BI / data visualisation tools advantageous; Jaspersoft
  • Experience in Tableau is essential
  • Experience in Google Cloud Services, Google BigQuery advantageous
  • High standard of literacy in Excel features & functions in order to maintain existing reports if necessary as well as developing others (i.e.VLOOKUPs, IF statements, SUM statements, pivot tables, graphs & charts, VBA / Macros etc)
  • Experience in T-SQL (queries, views, stored procedures, user defined functions, cursors, indexing etc) would be advantageous
  • Education to degree level is an advantage but not essential
