Job role: Customer & Technical Services Team Leader
Location: Poole, Dorset

Our well-established client is looking for a customer focused technical services team leader to be based in their Poole head office. The role will be responsible for:

  • Gaining a thorough technical understanding of all company products
  • Assisting in the testing and evaluation of potential new products
  • Establishing a strong relationship with manufacturing suppliers to ensure all products are fully understood and technical issues can be solved easily as and when they arise
  • Providing customer support to technical staff
  • Managing / overseeing the provision of training and technical product support to distributors
  • Ensuring superb and efficient customer services and technical support
  • Working within a small technical team responsible for:
    • Training distributors and clients
    • Installation of new equipment
    • Servicing and supporting UK clients
  • Preparing and testing products ready for sale to clients.
  • Ensuring all equipment in the showroom is always in top condition and ready for use
  • Managing spare parts, returns and replacement parts
  • Disseminating technical and product changes / knowledge to technical staff

The Candidate - Experience Required

The ideal candidate will have a good practical knowledge of digital printers and other print finishing equipment. This knowledge and experience required will probably have been gained either through:

  • Working in a digital print department of a commercial print operation
  • Or through working for a manufacturer or dealer servicing and supporting printers and copiers

  • A good practical and technical understanding of print
  • Enjoys using and understanding new technology
  • Self-motivated to learn new products and share that knowledge with others
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • A sense of urgency and focus when required
  • A proactive approach to customer service and support is essential
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Good listener
  • Good verbal and written communication as the role requires constant communication via e-mail with customers where English may be their second language
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Applicants must be willing to travel and be away from home on occasions
  • A car, driving license and passport is required
