Customer Service Advisor

Start date and duration: 16th March until the 30th April 2018
Location: Beckenham Road, Beckenham, Kent, BR3 4TU
Monday to Friday, 8.30am until 5.30pm

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our client Link Asset Services on a project as a Customer Service Advisor. You will be dedicated to one of Link’s biggest and most important clients, Standard Life Aberdeen Plc. Within this project you will be receiving a high volume of inbound calls from Standard Life Aberdeen Plc shareholders. The types of calls you will take will include the following:

• Taking a customer through a prescribed set of security questions and verifying their answers against Link’s system before continuing with the call
• Accepting changes of address and bank mandate over the phone and updating these into Link systems with 100% accuracy
• Talking to bereaved relatives and explaining what they need to do when a shareholder has died
• Checking the system for information on share and dividend balances and providing this information to callers
• Helping callers to use Link’s online share portal – basic knowledge of the internet and how to use websites with a login process is required for this.
• Providing information on selling shares including commission prices and options
• Taking and recording requests to send out various forms and information by post
• Making clear and accurate notes about calls when a call back / other hand off is required
• Giving information about the Annual General Meeting including venue location and times, how to vote by post / online / in person
• Calculating the number of outstanding payments a customer has and requesting the right fee – taking this fee by debit card using an automated system
• Explaining more complex options such as dividend reinvestment plans
• Advising shareholders of other their options when appropriate – ie if dividends are taken by cheque, offering bank mandate

** The first week of this role will be intense training. Due to this and the nature of the project no time off at all will be allowed for the first 2-3 weeks of the project **

This role will suit you if you can demonstrate the following:
• Minimum of 4 GCSEs or equivalent (including Maths and English at grade C or above).
• Experience of providing excellent customer service. Telephony experience would be ideal but is not required, your customer service experience can come from a range of previous work experience.
• Experience of handling challenging customers.
• High level of written and verbal communication skills, ability to write detailed free-form correspondence.
• Knowledge in Excel, Word and Outlook
