Due to the new partnership between Birmingham City Council and Hays, we are now looking to recruit a Customer Service Advisor to work in our Northfield neighbourhood office. Your new role

As a Customer Service Advisor you will be working in our busy offices in the Housing department. This role is to start ASAP with hours from 9 - 5 each week Monday to Friday. Your role will entail taking in a high volume of calls in a team which handles incoming queries predominantly by phone. The ideal candidate will be required to deal with calls based on housing queries and ensure to escalate calls to the relevant personnel. Your position will involve using computer based systems for logging the incoming calls, ensuring that reference numbers and tickets are given and that you are the able to give wrap around support from the first point of contact. This will be a call centre environment where you will be at your desk for a majority of the day. You will receive 1-2 weeks paid training to ensure that you are fully aware of the systems used and how to take and log phone calls on the platform correctly.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate should have strong customer service skills and ideally come from a housing background. Candidates from call centre/contact centre environment will benefit from the nature of this role as you will be familiar with hitting targets. Candidates of a reliable and efficient work ethic will be highly considered as this is a temporary vacancy which runs for 3 months until the end of June therefore you will be required to commit to the whole duration of the role with no holiday booked.
