Cargill’s Chocolate plant in Liverpool is a production facility at the hub of the UK confectionary industry. As part of Cargill’s Cocoa and Chocolate business, we produce a full range of milk, white and plain chocolate in bulk liquid and compound form used in various applications for customers in the confectionery, biscuit, bakery and dairy industries.

We are looking to appoint a Customer Service Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be the primary operational contact for your customers and responsible for executing a full range of customer service activities. Your role will be to continuously improve customer satisfaction by having high-quality contact with customers and developing and implementing solutions that structurally enhance processes, systems and interactions with our customers.

Main Tasks:

  • Portfolio of Customers, build a trusting relationship and act as SPOC for all order related communications
  • Receive, process, confirm and amend sales orders
  • Liaise with the Sales Team to ensure that contracts are in place with correct phasing
  • Respond to changes in the production plan or customer requirements
  • Pro-actively communicate any foreseen issues with their order
  • Accurate invoicing on a daily basis and dealing with any invoice and credit control queries
  • Record and escalate all customer complaints and delivery non-conformances, providing feedback to Customers
  • Establish and maintain a professional and productive relationship with the Third Party Logistics and Warehouse providers
  • Contribute to a strong and enthusiastic team-working environment within the Supply Chain team
  • Ensure that the highest, SHE, product safety, quality and hygiene standards are set and driven at all times.


  • Proven customer service experience gained in a Business to Business environment
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proficient in MS Office, Outlook (Email) and experience is using an MRP/ERP system
  • A good understanding of overall Supply Chain processes
  • Well-developed analytical skills
  • Proactive mind-set with good problem solving abilities
  • Ability to set priorities and organise your work load
  • Ability to positively respond to change or create change
