Role: Customer & Product Strategy Director

Location: Manchester with travel to Dublin

Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 DOE

A reliable, affordable, low-carbon residential retail energy supplier with a digital-first approach, are looking for a Customer & Product Strategy Director. The business is looking to focus on building innovative energy products and services for GB residential customers, and the Customer & Product Strategy Director will handle all aspects of customer acquisition, retention and other strategy campaigns for the GB supply business. Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for customer numbers, product profitability and cost of customer retention
  • Creating customer segmentation models to support Acquisition and Retention
  • Development of energy tariff, products and services - full lifecycle product management
  • Driving innovation and delivering new product / service offerings to the GB market
  • Deciding target markets for relevant products through analytics and insights
  • Oversee pricing of products including discounting, incentives, execution and governance
  • Liaising internally to ensure products are launched, sold and managed effectively
  • Optimise analytics capabilities to set KPI’s and develop MI using data from multiple sources
  • Working with the leadership team to assess disruptive threats / opportunities
  • Monitor and report on energy market trends and competitors in other markets
  • Review best practice trends in non-energy sectors that may be relevant
  • Develop product strategies from conception to implementation, aligned with customer needs

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years GB energy retail market knowledge or equivalent
  • Understanding of energy consumer trends and competitive landscape
  • Proven ability to manage, motivate and influence multiple teams
  • Knowledge of the commercial costs and drivers related to energy pricing in GB
  • Previous success developing product strategies, and solutions aligned with customer needs
  • Comfortable delivering presentations and reports for senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, numerical and strategic problem-solving skills
  • Ability to think creatively and implement innovative solutions to complex challenges
  • Commercial acumen and an understanding of business drivers
  • A relevant 3rd level qualification/university degree or equivalent work experience is essential
