G4S Events is Europe’s leading independent provider of event security and crowd management services. We are currently looking to increase our Glasgow Events Team where you will be working at exciting venues such as The SEC, Hampden Stadium, Murrayfield Stadium, Scotstoun and other Scottish Premier League and championship football venues. Upcoming one off events include the TRNSMT Festival, Justin Timberlake, Ed Sheeran at Hampden and Glasgow 2018 (transport will be provided if you are working out with Glasgow).
You will be working as part of an enthusiastic team that helps to keep these venues and events safe and secure throughout Glasgow and across UK. This is an opportunity to build on skills and experience such as customer service, communication, health & safety, team work, problem solving and many others. There is also plenty scope for progression through options like undertaking your SIA training with G4S, becoming a supervisor, joining the recruitment team and applying for the occassional full and part time vacancies within the office that come up.

The fundamental role of a Steward is to ensure all patrons have a safe and enjoyable experience. Events and Stewarding staff are often the first and last people visitors will meet at an event. Therefore the role of a Steward is primarily customer facing and includes, but is not limited to:
- Providing the ultimate customer care experience
- Checking Tickets
- Dealing with patrons queries and questions
- Crowd monitoring
- Helping people to their seats and providing general directions
- Hospitality, car parking and other general stewarding duties

The Ideal Candidate:
If you are over 18 years old and have strong verbal communication skills and the right aptitude to working with the public, then this could be the job for you! You will need to demonstrate at Interview a friendly, approachable and professional manner through excellent interpersonal skills. Flexibility is important due to the various shift times/days; the majority of our shifts are evening/weekends however we do have some work during week days.
No experience is required as full training will be provided in addition to an event briefing each shift. Uniform will also be provided as we pride ourselves on the quality and presentation of our staff.
The most common first step of progression for Stewards is obtaining your SIA (Security Industry Authority) badge. This licence allows you to perform additional duties and when you are working with this licence our standard rate is £9.00. We will be conducting SIA courses in early 2018 which you can book in for and attend at no cost to you (although applying for the licence itself after the training costs approx £220 which we can potentially assist with the up front cost of through financing options).
