Customer Administrator and Social Media Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team in the marina office. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to make a real difference to a small, family business, who enjoys customer interaction and has an interest in the use of social media to grow opportunities. We have a variety of business activities based from our office and the role would mean interaction with them all, providing a varied and stimulating environment.

As customer administrator you would be acting as a receptionist and looking after all customer queries, in person, by telephone and over email. You will be focussed on the administration of customer berthing and other services, including updating our customer database, raising invoices and taking payments. We aim to deliver an excellent customer service experience, to promote long term customer relations and referrals. This is a dynamic work environment with a combination of routine administrative work and spontaneous, ad-hoc projects and tasks.

The role also includes the use of social media and website to promote and update our business activities and for basic marketing. Sending monthly newsletters and analysing the results. We are looking for a person that will explore and expand our use of social media to better interact and engage with both potential and current customers.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have the ability to prioritise and organise your own work, adhere to deadlines and have a keen eye for accuracy and detail. Ideally candidates should have boating experience in order to understand customer requirements and our business operations. Computer literacy is essential including databases, MS word and excel. Numeracy skills essential for invoicing and basic accounts understanding. Design skills for creation of newsletters and social media posts.

Parkstone Bay Marina is ideally located in the heart of Poole Harbour, by a park and close to local shops. We are a small family business with a dynamic and friendly team. The position is full time including weekend work with time off in lieu during the week.
