Crisis Clinician - Occupational Therapist

Posted 16 September by NHS Business Services Authority

We are setting up a new Crisis and Home Treatment service in Oxfordshire for adults and older adults and want to recruit Occupational Therapists to deliver evidence-based recovery focussed assessment and treatment for patients who are moving out of inpatient services.

The service will be based in Oxford City initially but will eventually expand to cover the whole county and develop to include crisis response and inpatient gatekeeping.

We want to do something different that works for our service users and to deliver this there is a recognition that we need the skills of Occupational Therapists to help us spearhead the development of these services.

You would have smaller caseloads and be able to work intensively in people’s homes to support their recovery. You would also be responsible for supervising and directing the senior support staff to deliver the interventions prescribed.

We are looking for approximately 3-4 band 6 Occupational Therapists with either older adult or adult mental health experience to work shifts and unsocial hours as part of the clinical team although we are open to flexible working. There may be additional opportunities as the service develops to move into Advanced Clinical Practitioner roles within the team.

We have high profile and dynamic trust wide Allied Health leadership and an Occupational Therapy team of around 250 staff across different clinical specialties and locations and we would be able to provide profession specific support and supervision.
