Credit Risk Analyst

We have a brand new role in our growing Finance team for a Credit Risk Analyst. The purpose of this role is to support the Credit Risk Manager in the management and analysis of The Nottingham's mortgage portfolio with respect to customer and portfolio analytics, covering scorecard developments, credit risk policy analysis and detailed portfolio- and customer-level analysis. You'll also be supporting the improvement of processes across the team, managing stakeholders and you'll have the opportunity to support and contribute to a number of projects.

You'll be working for a growing and modern organisation in the middle of some really exciting growth and change projects. There is scope for the role to broaden and we offer opportunities for the successful individual to really add value to ongoing and upcoming projects here at the Society.

The key responsibilities of this role include

  • Support the Credit Risk Manager in identifying processes that can be improved and made more efficient
  • Follow and maintain key procedure guides, updating where necessary
  • Run in-depth data analysis, ensuring accuracy by reconciling results against known metrics in Credit Risk Management Information and in the Risk data mart
  • Produce reports based on the results of analysis, ensuring a high standard of accuracy and presentation and supporting the CRM in highlighting any areas that require further analysis or commentary to highlight to senior management any areas for concern
  • To run model developments in line with The Nottingham's Model Risk Policy document, including the usage of data, analytical techniques, governance and documentation
  • To manage existing models in the Model Inventory along the principles of the Model Risk Policy, including monitoring, reviewing risk triggers and ensuring reviews are carried out on schedule
  • To assist the Credit Risk Manager in any second line risk, internal audit or external audit reviews of model developments or governance

We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate

  • Knowledge of relevant analytical techniques
  • Knowledge of different types of lending and the risk implications associated with them
  • An awareness of the relevant regulations, including the Basel III Capital Requirements Regulation, Capital Requirements Directive and PRA consultative papers
  • Proficient in Microsoft office software
  • Proficient in SAS programming
  • Ideally knowledge of data extracts and reporting software (e.g. SQL, Oracle, Cognos)
  • Demonstrates attention to detail while ensuring deadlines are met
  • Able to work with professionals at all levels
  • Strong customer and results orientation; welcomes and encourages change
  • Good communication skills to be able to present and explain analysis in a business orientated manner
  • Appreciation the sensitivity and confidentiality of handling customer information
  • Working actively, collaboratively and constructively with a range of stakeholders throughout the business
