Credit Controller

  • Location: Slough
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Salary: £30,000

We are seeking a dedicated Credit Controller to join our team. This role is crucial for pursuing the receipt of payments from customers and maintaining accurate account records. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in credit control, strong IT skills, and excellent communication abilities.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Pursue the receipt of money from customers and respond promptly to any account queries.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate account records.
  • Operate all procedures related to credit control in accordance with established routines and programmes.
  • Monitor “special accounts” and report any discrepancies or illogical entries to the team leader.
  • Liaise with Finance Houses to ensure that deals are accepted and documentation is in place before dispatching equipment.
  • Respond to all customer communications promptly.
  • Prioritise the chasing of invoices over £1,000 by telephone until a satisfactory resolution is achieved.
  • Conduct credit checks and manage litigation proceedings as necessary.
  • Regularly review the sales ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Credit Controller.
  • Strong IT skills, capable of managing digital records and systems efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle customer inquiries professionally.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a knack for maintaining accurate and organised records.
