I am currently recruiting for a unique opportunity. My client require an additional credit controller to join their team. This role, although predominately credit control focused will require the successful candidate to support other areas of the business and work closely with the management accounts team.

Job Description:

  • Take responsibility for a ledger of existing and aged debt
  • Proactively chasing debts within agreed time scales via telephone and email
  • Resolving any customer queries to ensure prompt payment
  • Making regular collection calls to ensure all group targets are met
  • Providing copy invoices as required
  • Ensure all customer account records are up to date with any correspondence and updated accordingly
  • Process and respond to incoming post
  • Process any credit or debit card payments
  • Allocate payments to relevant accounts
  • Complete account reconciliations
  • Opening new customer accounts - ensuring all information is accurately updated
  • Completing and updating customer credit checks
  • Assisting with month end debtor reporting
  • Providing weekly credit control and debt reports to key business stakeholders
  • Follow collections through to litigation as required
  • Ensure unmatched cash receipts and payments are kept to a minimal

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills - ability to build and develop customer relationships
  • Previous credit control/ sales ledger experience (min 2 years)
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Professional and customer focused approach
  • Ability to work in a target driven and pressured environment
  • Problem solving ability
  • Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently
  • Confident and proactive approach
  • Ambitious and development focused persona
  • Excellent computerised systems skills - ideally Sage
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Ideally be studying towards a professional qualification - This is not essential
