Credit Controller

Following internal restructure, our client is now looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join his finance team based in the heart of Manchester City Centre.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for the day-to-day sole management of the Credit Control function in a standalone capacity for this retail organisation. Working within a small team of three, you will utilise your previous experience to efficiently and effectively reduce any aged-debt from large organisations and sole traders alike.

Responsibilities

  • Chase debtors for payment via phone, letters and emails
  • Set credit limits for new customers
  • Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity
  • Issue monthly statements
  • Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payments within agreed terms
  • Process customer payments
  • Resolve customer queries relating to payments
  • Month end responsibilities
  • Ad hoc duties as required

Experience

  • Minimum of two years experience within a B2B Credit Control department
  • Proven track record of reducing aged debt
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Proactive attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sage 50 experience is desirable
  • Intermediate excel skills (VLOOKUPS/Pivot Tables)
