Location: Daventry

Our Client, a successful manufacturing company based in Daventry, is seeking to recruit a Credit Controller & Assistant Accountant on a full-time permanent basis to work in their finance team.

The successful candidate will ensure company debts are collected in a timely & efficient manner, adhering to strict ICL policies and controlling the credit insurance cover, and assist the Finance Manager with the efficient running of the accounts department. In the short-term, the role will be predominantly credit control with an emphasis on client relationship management, however this will quickly expand & evolve into an all-round accounting assistant role.

Duties / Responsibilities
*Responsibility for all credit control (circa 250 clients),
*Responsible for credit insurance cover,
*Sales Ledger,
*Responsible for accurate & timely cash posting & banking,
*Monthly mailing of client statements,
*Credit management, including reviewing held orders,
*Continual reviewing of client credit limits,
*Managing applications for top-up cover,
*Liaising with Solicitor's for any litigation claims,
*Pre-season sales: monitoring extended credit orders within credit insurance parameters,
*Monthly & quarterly reporting of Debtors & credit insurance levels to ICL Group,
*Annually reconcile any contra agreements,
*Managing the Company lease cars spread sheet & communicating changes,
*Review Company car users' driving licences,
*Updating Motor Insurance Database: new leases / end of lease / car hire,
*Other ad hoc duties as required.

Reporting to: Finance Manager

Skills / Experience / Qualifications
*At least three years credit control & accounting experience, ideally within manufacturing,
*Excellent telephone manner & the ability to build relationships with customers and sales team, and effective internal & external communication skills at all levels,
*Attention to detail & numerate ensuring procedures accurately follow company specs,
*Demonstrate the ability to plan & prioritise own workload in order to meet required deadlines / performance standards,
*Good all round accounting knowledge,
*Operates in line with relevant legislation & Company policies / procedures,
*Demonstrates ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative, to ensure effectiveness in line with the needs of the business,
*Demonstrates a flexible attitude towards work, adaptability to changing circumstances and ability to respond to business priorities appropriately,
*Qualifications: GCSE / Part or Fully-Qualified AAT or greater,
*Systems: Knowledge of QAD Cloud ERP and/or Pegasus (Opera / Operations) would be beneficial, but not essential. High level of IT skills i.e. Word, Excel.

*Appointment Type: Permanent
*Salary: £20,000 - £22,000 per annum (subject to experience)
*Hours: Full-time Mon-Fri 8:30am to 5:00pm (1hr lunch)
*Holiday: 28 Days (20 + STAT), company closes over Christmas
*Company Bonus (KPI & Profit, Approx. 5% Salary)
