Credit Control Manager - Business Energy

Salary: circa €55,000 depending on skills and experience + annual bonus

Permanent| Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available | 37.5 hours per week

Our Role

The Business Energy Credit Manager position is accountable for the entire credit granting process, including the consistent application of our credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of SSE Airtricity Business Energy company sales and bad debt losses.

The role will involve the management of large, high profile contracts ensuring payment is made within agreed terms, ensuring the appropriate collection activity is applied also. You will resolve billing and payment issues as well as processing payments. Attention to detail is paramount as is a sound working knowledge of CS and Microsoft Office packages. Responsibilities will include but will not be restricted to:

-Maintain a department organizational structure sufficient to meet all goals and objectives of the Business Energy division

-Properly motivate, coach and mentor the credit and collections team ensuring that ongoing training is provided

-Measure department performance

-Manage relations with credit reporting agencies

-Create and maintain a strong and effective scoring model

-Manage the relations with our Insurance brokers

-Manage relations within the Operations team including Customer Care, Commercial Billing, Business Assurance and Sales mgmt. Develops and maintains effective internal relationships. Co-operating well and sharing knowledge and experience with others.

-Manage relations within local and group finance

-Maintain the Business Energy credit policy and recommend changes / business improvement initiatives in the credit policy to senior management

-Personally, take ownership and investigate the largest customer debts

-Manage and present the monthly Credit Control collections review papers

-Manage the Bad Debt Provision Charges

-Ensuring that all debt management activities adhere to Regulatory Codes of Practice, Data Protection and in-house procedures.

-Delivering regular team meetings and one to ones and manage performance, SLA's, resource and time management where required.

-Working effectively under pressure to set targets and deadlines.

Your Skills and Experience

-Demonstrable experience as a Credit Manager / Credit Analyst / Credit Officer

-Experience with credit scoring systems preferred.

-Thorough knowledge of credit-related laws.

-Flexible to travel to Industry /Customer meetings in ROI and NI

-Considerable experience with customer negotiations

-Must be able to work alone and as part of a team seeking and giving advice.

-Previous experience of working within an environment governed by strict policies, procedures and regulatory requirements

-A general understanding of the electricity and Gas industry.

-Ability to think creatively, to innovate and resolve problems and handle routine work with limited supervision.
