Sterling Williams are supporting an International Bank based in the West End who are looking to hire a Credit Analyst with strong experience working with Financial Institutions and Corporates on a 1 year Fixed Term Contract (FTC)

1 year Fixed Term Contract
Salary: £80 - 85,000 pa plus benefits
West End based (Office: 4 days, Home: 1 day)

You will play a pivotal role in providing an independent credit risk assessment of a range of global financial institutions, sovereign states, individual and corporates to facilitate the appropriate sanction of credit lines. This assessment is both quantitative and qualitative in nature providing a detailed risk analysis of the most recent financial accounts, the macro environment in which the entity operates and less tangible factors such as management quality.

Responsibilities will consist of:

  • To undertake the credit risk analysis in relation to a portfolio of financial institution and corporate borrowers and counterparties
  • To undertake the ongoing credit risk monitoring of such portfolio.
  • To assess the credit risk of new and renewal credit applications for financial institutions and corporate borrowers and counterparties.
  • To prepare financial spreadsheets of the borrower/counterparty's financial position in relation to balance sheet, profit and loss and cash-flow information and to write the accompanying credit analysis report to assess the credit risk of the proposal, using methodology as appropriate for financial institutions.
  • To consider all information as may be appropriate to analyse the credit risk including from rating agencies; other financial institutions (brokers and banks); general market sources, including credit rating agencies (Fitch, Moody's) credit information tools; Dun & Bradstreet and Bloomberg as required.
  • To monitor a designated portfolio of accounts on an ongoing basis and to prepare timely updates on all aspects of those accounts which may affect the credit risk.
  • To structure credit proposals and formulate and present credit applications with a view to improving the quality of the presentation and the soundness of the credit risk.
  • To monitor and manage the flow of such credit proposals to ensure their timely submission for the Credit Committee.
  • To co-ordinate with the product units within the Bank in relation to new/amended credit risk limits.
  • To assist in the preparation of periodic reports for Senior Management.

The successful candidate will have strong credit analysis experience, dealing with Financial Institutions and Corporates ideally for c 10 years plus and be able to add value from day one; candidates will have experience presenting to the credit committee and be able to work in a small team.
