We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic,
forward thinking Speech and Language Therapist experienced in working within
the acute setting to join our established team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The
postholder will provide clinical leadership in acute stroke, and lead a small
team  delivering the service within the
Acute Stroke Unit and to stroke patients across the hospital site.
 

The postholder will be expected to continue
to develop the service to patients presenting with acute stroke, including
dysphagia management, supporting increased access to videofluoroscopy and FEES
clinics.
There will be an opportunity to further
develop the service to patients presenting with complex acquired communication
difficulties, and promote an aphasia friendly environment in a close
multidisciplinary setting.
 

The postholder will join a team of 12
Speech and Language Therapists providing acute care over the full range of
adult acquired specialties. The team is innovative and very supportive with
regular meetings and CPD sessions.
The successful candidate will have
opportunities to engage in research and further professional and leadership
development.
