COVID-19 Lighthouse Laboratory Specialist Practitioner

Piers Meadows Recruitment are currently looking for 8 Band 6 COVID-19 Lighthouse Laboratory Specialist Practitioners to join our client in Berkshire.

The job holder will work in a new COVID-19 Lighthouse Testing Laboratory, forming part of NHS Test and Trace and managed by Berkshire and Pathology Services (BSPS). BSPS is a large and established pathology network operating across Royal Berkshire, Royal Surrey, Frimley Health and Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trusts.

The post holder will participate in the provision of an efficient and cost effective COVID-19 testing service within Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Services.

The successful candidate will be a Biomedical Scientist Graduate with 1-2 years experience as a BMS/AP.

They will be required to work unsupervised (including on shift or on-call systems where appropriate and necessary), either as part of a team or independently, receiving, analysing and reporting specimens for COVID-19 testing.

The post holder will be required to perform a complex range of tests using dedicated scientific equipment on all samples received.

They will be required to interpret and report results in accordance with agreed service protocols.

Salary £33,933-£39,681 depending on experience plus additional for unsociable hours.
