Hays Education are currently working exclusively on behalf of a Birmingham secondary school based in Saltley to assist in recruiting for several cover supervisors to create a large, local supply list. Regular shifts will become available after October half term for both part time and full time requirements.

Your new school

Your new role

There are several part time opportunities available within this school including regular, day to day emergency cover and pre-booked course cover. You can be offered shifts ranging from one hour to full days and/or mornings or afternoons depending on your requirements. There are an abundance of shifts available reaching up to 40 hours per week. Your responsibilities will include delivering prepared planning, ensuring the pupils are engaged and fulfil their learning objectives, following the schools policies and procedures and keeping the classroom tidy. No planning responsibilities are included. The school are looking to build a pool of regular staff to cover a range of lessons that they can rely on to return to the school as often as needed.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in your application for these roles you will need to have secondary teaching experience of at least 3 months, recent experience teaching within a secondary school or similar setting and be willing to travel to the Saltley area. As the shortest shift offered would be one hour, local candidates would be preferable. You must have experience delivering a range of lessons including English, Science and Maths. Experienced teachers are also welcome to apply as cover supervisors if you prefer a post with no planning responsibilities.
