Cover Supervisor

A large comprehensive secondary school who cater for children aged 11 - 18 are currently seeking to appoint cover supervisors in a variety of subjects to develop their supply pool. The school has specialist technology status with particular emphasis on mathematics and science. The job is for a number of cover supervisors to work on a day-to-day supply basis to cover any daily sickness or absence requirements.

These positions have arisen due to previous members of staff going on to study for their GTP or PGCE qualification and is therefore a good transition into teaching. This role will require someone who can arrive at school last minute with little in the way of preparation, who can be given a timetable, the set work and then deliver it to a high standard. This will enable children to continue their work with little disruption and continue to attain highly.

Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate must have strong behaviour management skills to effectively manage classroom behaviour. This role requires someone who has had prior experience of working with young people, specifically in the 11-18+ age group, in the last two years.
