Cover Supervisors Required for Schools in Eastbourne
Your new company
Hays Education Brighton Office are currently working with a number of Schools across East & West Sussex to find Cover Supervisors for immediate starts for both long term and short term cover requirements.
Your new role
As a Cover Supervisor you will be working through Hays who can provide you with a variety of jobs offering you flexibility that fits around your current commitments, meaning you can work as much or as little as you like. We can offer long term to short term positions, which can be for as many days a week as you require. They can vary from day to day supply through to long-term + placements.
Working as a cover supervisor can be very demanding, but also extremely rewarding. There is a high level of responsibility, and although there is always a teacher close at hand if needed, there is a large amount of autonomy.
On a daily basis, you will be expected to cover different subject lessons, supervising work that has been set in accordance with the school policy. You will need to manage the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking this work to ensure a constructive atmosphere, as well as promoting positive behaviour in and out of the classroom. All work will need to be collected after each lesson and returned to the appropriate person. Feedback may be required from you therefore it is essential that you are able to monitor and record pupils progress.
What you'll need to succeed
It is essential that you have a minimum of 40 days experience of working with children of secondary school age in the last 5 years, as well as experience of leading classes of children (this can be curriculum or non-curriculum based). The ability to become a Cover Supervisor is subject to clearance of our compliance and vetting process.
What you'll get in return
You will have an excellent opportunity to settle in a school in a long-term position as well as the chance to further your knowledge and teaching practise in a supportive environment. You will also receive continuous support from a dedicated Hays consultant and access to exclusively registered jobs with our clients. Candidates have the opportunity to receive £250 vouchers if you refer a friend for similar work in education.
