More than just a Cost Assistant

Salary: circa £20,000 pa

Hallidays Ethical Resourcing Team is supporting with the recruitment of a Cost Assistant to work with a Manufacturing Team in North Manchester. The Cost Assistant will report to the Finance Director and will have responsibility for cost accounting and for the general, day to day accounting function.

We are looking for someone who is eager to learn and who has excellent attention to detail. You must be organised and able to communicate well in person, over the phone and in your written work. We are looking for a team player who has enthusiasm for finance and who wants to progress. You must have the ability to draw conclusions from data and should be able to audit the information you are presented with.

Qualifications & Experience

You will have previously worked in an accounts role and ideally will have worked in an accounts payable or credit control position. Experience in the manufacturing sector is preferred, although this is not essential. You should be studying towards an accountancy qualification.

System or Knowledge

This role will involve Advanced Excel knowledge and so experience of Pivot table and V-Lookup is essential as is experience of Microsoft Office. Ideally you will have knowledge of MRP systems, but this is not essential.
