Interim Cost Accountant job in Newport
Your new organisation
My client is an award winning, specialist manufacturer based just outside of Newport. Established for over twenty years they have multiple sites across the UK and provide innovative and cost-effective solutions for a range of customers across the globe. Due to planned absence of a permanent member of staff they are recruiting for an interim cost accountant for a period of six months.
Your new role
Starting in May 2018 you will report into the organisation's financial controller and work as part of a small finance team. You will be responsible for inventory, data collection and analysis and will ultimately be tasked with ensuring effective financial control for the organisation's facility in South East Wales. Your responsibilities will include coordinating physical inventory counts and cycle counts, reviewing standard and actual costs for inaccuracies, validating the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close, conduct ongoing process constraint analyses, report on break-even points by products and departments and create and review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems. This role is full-time, Monday to Friday.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a finance professional with a proven background in cost accounting in another manufacturing environment. You will possess a strong financial acumen and have excellent data analysis and communication skills. You will have previous experience of using Sage 200 and be IT literate.
What you'll get in return
This is an opportunity to work for an award winning manufacturer with an impressive customer base. The organisation is located within a short distance of the M4 and has free onsite parking. A competitive daily rate is available for this assignment.
