Tackle Cases as a Group Rather than Individually
A Local Authority which is based in London is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Corporate Parenting. The service work with service users from the age of 0 to 25 who are considered to be Looked After. The service recently amalgamated with the Leaving Care team and now take cases all the way through until the service user has left care or they have found permanency.
This is an assignment within a forward thinking Local Authority which has adopted the Hackney Model; where the team is broken down into "pods" which are led by an Advanced Practitioner/Deputy Team Manager and consist of a Senior Practitioner, 2 Social Workers, a Leaving Care Coach and a Family Finder. The Pod function as a unit and tackle cases as a unit in order to make sure everyone in the team is supported and that service user received a more holistic package of care. Furthermore the model is being further developed in the Authority as they have recently taken on Children's Mental Health Practitioners to help provide clinical support to any team who are dealing with Mental Health cases.
This is a largely stable Local Authority with Senior Managers being in post for more than a number of years, therefore there is a clear vision as to the direction in which the LA's Social Services are moving. Generally when a new Senior Manager comes into an Authority a restructure of services usually ensues, which is normally disruptive as changes normally have teething problems. However due to the stable management team there is no risk of this occurring.
To be considered for this post you should have experience within a LAC service and have experience of completing Court Work.
