Corporate Event & Support Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Technical Corporate Event & Support Technician to join a fast growing technology company. AVMI is the UK’s leading provider of Audio Visual and Video Conferencing solutions and is expanding rapidly overseas as well as developing a number of market leading innovations. This is a varied, fast paced role that would be well suited to someone with strong customer service experience that is looking to further their career in a challenging role.


The Corporate Event and Support Technician’s function is to provide AV event support in London and maintenance support to other corporate client’s sites in the surrounding area. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


Implement room moves/changes are requested Conduct Site Surveys Install new Barco equipment where required Operate audio and visual equipment with the aim to provide high quality services for live events and other productions across client sites Complete understanding of signal flow in both audio and video installations Positioning, installation and operation of equipment in client venues and external sites when necessary Coordinate the flow of an event effectively amongst the various implicated sites Video / audio conference setup and support. Best efforts should be made to ensure all sites are connected on time and receiving / transmitting good audio / video. Assist with support for video / audio conferencing problems. Investigate faults and recommend further actions to rectify. To provide technical support to specialised production and facilities companies during events when necessary


Troubleshoot and problem solve for the staff experiencing difficulties with audio-visual Maintain, service and monitor the use of audio-visual equipment Provide advice on the purchase of audio-visual equipment within the department Ensure that all faults are reported in the correct way and in a timely manner Proactive maintenance/reporting to ensure all AV equipment is always of the highest standard and functioning correctly Coordinate power-downs/ups Coordinate all AV project/installation requirements Coordinate and manage relationships with Client and AVMI service desks


Providing monthly stats of workload using AVMI provided applications. Mailbox/e-mail management Liaising with members of staff in other departments or external contacts Advise clients on best practice Provide regular feedback on communication issues and service improvements Focus on service / operational issues for review Manual handling tasks will be required when necessary for moving equipment Understand the standards of a current live event production and to be able to specify the appropriate equipment according to each event Provide regular feedback on communication issues and service improvements Focus on service / operational issues for review

Normal working hours are 09:00 - 17:00 Monday - Friday, not including Bank Holidays


  • Excellent communication, drive and decision making skills.

  • Good organisational skills, multi-tasking and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Previous experience in a similar service position is desirable but not necessary
