Corporate Business Development Manager - Midlands Based

To manage, develop and maintain a pipeline of new business opportunities in order to deliver profitable revenue growth for the Commercial division. To ensure that Biffa achieves `best value` out of its operations through facilitating active cooperation between the various team members and other company divisions and departments. To achieve agreed, overall, revenue and profit targets based on a team related annual budget.
1 Ability to deliver sales revenue to achieve targets /KPI`s by generating leads, through new business opportunities using marketing / relevant research tools / sector specific targeting and cold calling.
2 Ability to co-ordinate their own sales prospects (client average order values circa £500k) with a minimum overall sales pipeline value of £15 to £20 million.
3 Confidence to present a tailored presentation to potential clients by effectively promoting `The Biffa Model`. Using most appropriate features & benefits based on clients needs and matching with a tailored solution.
4 You will develop new business relationships, generate and negotiate new income for Biffa to an agreed annual target of invoiced revenue.
5 Present the Biffa business model to potential clients through direct communication in face to face meetings, presentations and tender situations.
6 Responsible for your own lead generation and appointment setting.
7 Actively and successfully managing the sales process, through lead generation, sales presentations, proposal solutions, negotiation, close, and handover to the account management team.
8 Possess drive, motivation and acute attention to detail in ensuring all sales opportunities are captured.
9 Managing and maintaining a pipeline and ensuring all sales administration is current using CRM software.
10 Create and be accountable for all client proposals, contracts and any further documentation, following Biffa`s required procedures.
11 Responding to tenders and requests for information in a timely manner. You will effectively interact with other departments including the account management and internal teams when handing over new customers ensuring you fully and correctly brief in all aspects of the sale
Nature and Scope:
This role is about managing and influencing a range of day to day and strategic issues within the new business team. The post holder will have the scope to drive the return on sales through planned, objective management of their sales activities and process. He/she will also be instrumental in ensuring that Biffa stays `ahead of the game` with respect to service offering, business model and operating methods.
