A great opportunity for a Conveyancing Assistant to join a well- established integrated Corporate and Commercial Law in their Sheffield office. The company are a legal 500 Yorkshire law firm, who have a high calibre client base. The company are a training contract provider.

This role is perfect for candidates looking to start at assistant level and progress in time to a Conveyancer / Licenced Conveyancer.

The role will be required to provide legal support to the Residential Property Team as well as managing a caseload under the supervision of a solicitor. As a Conveyancing assistant, you will open and close residential sale and purchase files, plot sales, dealing with the files from instruction to completion, using the Firm's in-house workflows and case management system including screens and tasks.

About the role

  • liaising with clients by phone, email, letter etc
  • where you will be required to identify issues / matters relating to their files and receiving instructions.
  • The role includes liaising with estate agents, mortgage brokers, other solicitors, HM Land Registry and others as appropriate to the particular matters.
  • You will be required to create and prepare letters and correspondence through the case management system including legal documents such as contracts, deeds and legal charges, and identify complicated title issues that require the attention of senior member of the team.
  • It expected that you will be able to produce client bills at completion or when appropriate and prepare financial statements reports for use by fee earner and clients.
  • You will also be required to perform research into legal documents and records, so you should have the ability to analyse large amounts of data, as well as having good organisational and excellent communication skills

About you

  • Ideally you will preferably have attained a degree (or equivalent) in any discipline (a law degree is not essential)
  • strong Excel and IT skills; min 6 months admin experience is highly desirable
  • with a positive outlook and be a team player with the ability to use initiative.
  • motivated, flexible and preferably assisting with legal issues.
  • confidence and ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels, both in writing and verbally.
  • Previous experience within a Law Firm is preferential but not essential providing you can demonstrate potential to be trained into this role.
  • It would be an advantage if you have experience of identifying and developing marketing opportunities.
