Contracts and Procurement Lawyer

A great job opportunity has emerged for a Contract and Procurement Lawyer to join our client in East London.

Our client is looking for someone who can work with a senior lawyer and deliver legal advice and casework in the area of procurement, contracts and company commercial law within our client's legal practice.

You role will include:

*Working under supervision, preparing and processing cases and legal documents in the area of procurement, contracts and company commercial law affecting the Council including documents for court proceedings, appeals hearings, and tribunals as appropriate.

*Carrying a caseload under supervision and to progress to conclusion and carrying out research and provide legal advice.

*Providing legal support to the legal practice team to enable and facilitate the provision of high quality legal advice to the authority.

*Preparing, negotiating, drafting and agreeing routine legal documentation and forms, and all documentation associated with the legal process, including briefs, pleadings, claim forms, affidavits, witness statements and so forth.

*Providing responsive advice on procurement, contracts and company commercial law and on the management of risk on straightforward legal issues.

*Amending / drafting statements and care plans.

*Undertaking advocacy such as directions appointments and applications for order by consent, case management discussions and hearings appropriate to experience.
