The CI Specialist is Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certified and is responsible for leading project teams to improve critical business processes and drive financial results.
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
*Process Improvement & Optimization: Lead improvement projects within the Value Centre and effectively coordinate projects. Identify integration issues with other projects/process and coordinate the improvements with the appropriate project/process owners to accomplish the project goals.
*Project Management: Project leadership includes: identifying opportunities; defining & financially justifying projects; launching project teams; using good project management to manage team activities; leading teams to execute projects with the LSS problem solving methodology; tracking project status and results; removing and elevating project barriers; and development team members. Ensure projects are integrated with other business activities, improvement projects and business strategy.
*Strategic Analysis: Manage the development and maintenance of methods and systems for measuring the degree to which the project goals, objectives and metrics are being met. Provide Value Centre Champion measurement results and recommend appropriate corrective action. Ensure two-way communication takes place throughout organization with respect to LSS projects. Keep Value Centre Champion and Master Black Belts informed of program status and ensure coordination of activities with other Black Belts.
*Training & Development: Identify potential Black Belts and recruit team members into the LSS infrastructure. Provide training and coaching to team members to spread the base of LSS problem solving tools and increase team effectiveness. Capturing project case histories that can be re-used for other projects and submitting them in a best practices format when appropriate
Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
Required Experience and Qualifications:
*Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
*Intermediate level of industrial/manufacturing process improvement experience;
*Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint);
*Previous exposure to materials, manufacturing, and related product knowledge;
*Proven project management and leadership abilities in a team environment a plus;
*Group facilitation and trainer/instructor skills a plus;
*Strong results focus
*Successful experience working in a matrix
*Proven ability to work with others, collaborate and influence others
*Data management experience - ability to interpret and add value
*Strong personal accountability approach
*BS in Engineering (i.e., Mechanical, Industrial, Systems, etc.) or Business;
