The Older Peoples Mental Health Service has an exciting opportunity to recruit a purely community based, Consultant in old age psychiatry for our Bolsover and Clay Cross community mental health team. This substantive post will be based at Walton Hospital, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. The post holder will be responsible for a community population and has no responsibility for inpatient functional or dementia care.
A number of recent developments include a nurse-led memory assessment service and nurse delivered diagnosis. The implementation of a county wide dementia rapid response team working 7 days a week, the development of an in reach and home treatment team for people with a functional mental health issue in the south of the county and funding agreed to roll this out county wide over the next financial year. The team has a NMP within the service to support medical workloads.
The successful applicant will take a key role in the Department of Older Adult Psychiatry, providing clinical leadership to the teams with which they will be working and supporting current and future service developments.
The post offer a varied job working closely with the multidisciplinary teams. We put a high emphasis on quality of care, peer support and on clinical engagement in service development and management.
We are offering a relocation package of up to £8,000 available to eligible candidates.
