Consultant Psychiatrist in Early Intervention

The Newham Early Intervention Service (NEIS) is expanding following investment to provide an integrated and ageless EI offer to residents of Newham. This has allowed the creation of a new full-time (10 PA) consultant post, to work together with the existing whole time clinical lead for the service. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a highly regarded and dynamic team. It is a particularly exciting time to join the Newham Adult Mental Health Directorate, as the service is part of the NHS England Community Transformation Pilot developing an integrated mental health offer within Primary Care Networks.

Newham also hosts a WHO Collaborating Centre (the only one specifically for Mental Health Service Development in the world) and the successful applicant will have opportunities for academic links with the Centre Director Professor Stephan Priebe, and its large research group in social psychiatry and global mental health.

The option for job planned time for research activity will be actively considered. He/she will also be enrolled on the Trusts highly regarded Improvement Science in Action training and will be encouraged to contribute to our unique Quality Improvement programme.
