Gloucestershire Health & Care Foundation Trust provides Mental Health and specialist Learning Disability services across the counties of Gloucestershire and Herefordshire. The Trust was approved by the Secretary of State as a Foundation Trust from July 2007. The Trust has recently been rated overall as ’Good’ by the CQC for the second consecutive time, with acute wards for adults of working age and crisis services both being rated as ‘Outstanding’.

The successful candidate will provide senior medical advice, support, consultancy and clinical leadership to theEast Gloucestershire Locality Assertive Outreach Teams

It is expected the postholder will play a major role in the clinical leadership, to ensure a high quality of care is provided to service users. As part of this role they would be expected to work in partnership with the team managers responsible for the service. There will be an expectation to take part in general management issues that will be shared amongst all their consultant colleagues.

You will be expected to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and liaise with other statutory and voluntary agencies. To carry out clinics and domiciliary visits consisting of routine and urgent new patient assessments and review/follow up appointments for service users with severe enduring, mental disorder and complex needs;

The on call commitment for this post is inclusion in the county-wide consultant on call rota; 1 in 20 covering all specialties. With a first (9am to 9pm) and second (9pm-9am) on call arrangement.
